4 DAYS | 4 NATIONAL PARKS COMBINED

NORTHERN SAFARI TANZANIA

On this short but intense safari you are able to see highlights such as the enormous wildlife in Ngorongoro Crater, lots of elephants in Tarangire National Park, climbing Lions in Lake Manyara National Park and black&white colobus monkeys in Arusha National Park. This 4 days Northern Safari Tanzania combines several wildlife areas with each other and starts in Arusha

If you like, we can extend and customize this safari with further National Parks, a Kilimanjaro Trekking or a relaxation  beach extensions on Zanzibar, Pemba, or Mafia Island. Our private tours allow families to dictate the itinerary and communicate their preferences directly to the driver guide.

Day 1: Arusha National Park

Arusha National Park is home to a species-rich flora that is a mixture of tropical and familiar-looking alpine vegetation. Giraffes, zebras, buffaloes and antelopes are particularly common here. Various species of monkeys can be observed from all sides. There is a good chance of seeing flamingos at the small lakes in the park. As the park is home to hardly any big cats and only a few elephants, it is largely considered "underrated" and is often "left out" on the way from the airport to the Serengeti. This is a pity, because the landscape characterised by Mount Meru is very special.

Day 2: Tarangire National Park

The day in the shadow of the elephant. The Tarangire National Park offers a beautiful, wide panorama with open acacia forests, huge baobab trees and large grass savannahs, through which the Tarangire River meanders. In addition to herds of elephants, some of which number more than 300 animals, the park is home to around 100 species of mammals. These include antelopes, zebras, buffaloes, baboons and giraffes. The big cats here include lions and cheetahs. You have plenty of time to observe the animals and must be prepared for elephants blocking the way. In the evening, we return to the accommodation for dinner.

Day 3: Ngorongoro Crater

For many, the safari highlight of a trip to Tanzania is the Ngorongoro Crater. Several million years ago, a mountain rose up here, which geologists estimate to be higher than Mount Kilimanjaro. Tectonic movements caused the mountain to collapse, creating a habitat that is unique in the world. The interior of the crater, which is often referred to as the 8th wonder of the world, covers an area of over 260 square kilometres. It is hard to imagine that there is room for almost 30,000 animals in one crater. Due to the favourable conditions and the difficult escape from the crater, there is hardly any migration. As the crater is rather small in comparison to other parks, there is a chance of encountering one of the 20 or so local black rhinos here. After the game drive, we continue to our accommodation.

DAY 4: Lake Manyara National Park

Lake Manyara National Park is relatively small at 330 square kilometres, but very worthwhile due to its contrasting habitat to the large steppe parks. It is famous for its lions in the trees, which you may be lucky enough to see. The park is home to a lush rainforest. Hundreds of baboons laze by the roadside. Lake Manyara also offers a landscape of forest and grassland right up to the marshland around the lake itself. Lake Manyara is an alkaline lake. At certain times of the year, flocks of flamingos can be observed here, which love the hot springs at the lake. A short hike to these is definitely worthwhile, as the water is said to have a healing effect when applied externally. Otherwise, there are of course hippos, buffaloes, giraffes, zebras, antelopes and the aforementioned lions to be seen.

After the park we'll bring you back to Arusha
