A shuttle from the lodge is waiting at the airport with a sign (Karibu sana! - a warm welcome) at the exit. The transfer takes about 10 minutes - 1 hour. In good weather, you can relax by the pool and mentally prepare for the journey.

The journey on your Budget Safari takes you past Mount Meru, through Arusha and many other small villages until you reach the gate of Tarangire National Park. This Park offers a beautiful, wide panorama with open acacia forests, huge baobab trees and large grass savannahs, through which the Tarangire River meanders. In addition to herds of elephants, some of which number more than 300 animals, the park is home to around 100 species of mammals. These include antelopes, zebras, buffaloes, baboons and giraffes. Overnight stay in a luxury tent.

After breakfast, we head to Mto wa Mbu to spend the day in the colourful little town and immerse ourselves in small-town African life. Mto wa Mbu is so interesting because it is a mix of almost all the peoples and tribes living in Tanzania. Almost 120 of them! You won't find anything like this anywhere else on the continent. In the morning, you can explore the town on foot or by bike. For lunch, we would like to invite you to a private traditional Tanzanian meal. This will take place in the garden of "Mama Rose". You may, but do not have to, eat with your hands.
For hobby cooks there is the possibility to buy the ingredients for lunch with the cook at the market and then cook the meal together.

ALTERNATIVE EXTRA: If you wish, we can visit a school during the day on weekdays. This gives you an insight into the everyday life of "normal" children at a public school.

The approximately two to three-hour drive over the crater rim of the Ngorongoro Crater leads into the Serengeti. At the viewpoints you can enjoy the unique landscape of the former volcano before descending on the other side into the Serengeti, probably the most famous savannah in the world. Once you have passed the gate on the way to Naabi Hill Gate, you quickly realise where the Serengeti got its name from. It is derived from the Maasai word "Siringitu" and means "endless land". The route to the accommodation consists of game drives and pure nature.

There are no prescribed for routes in the Serengeti. Many hidden can be found, where animals and spectacles are able to see. Special discoveries are communicated by radio so that you are unlikely to "miss" anything in the vicinity. The "Great Migration", with around 1.5 million wildebeest and zebras, is rightly considered one of the great wonders of nature! Lunch is usually eaten in the form of a lunchbox at one of the picnic areas or in the car while observing animals.

The route from the Serengeti Safari back to the Crater ( approx. 200km) takes about 4 hours, depending on the duration of the stops for game viewing and short breaks. The first stop is a scenic game drive from the Serengeti towards the Ngorongoro Conservation Area.

Several million years ago, a mountain rose up here, which geologists estimate to be higher than Mount Kilimanjaro. Tectonic movements caused the mountain to collapse, creating a habitat that is unique in the world. The interior of the crater, which is often referred to as the 8th wonder of the world, covers an area of over 260 square kilometres. It is hard to imagine that there is room for almost 30,000 animals in one crater. Due to the favourable conditions and the difficult escape from the crater, there is hardly any migration. As the crater is rather small in comparison to other parks, there is a chance of encountering one of the 20 or so local black rhinos here. After the game drive, we continue to our accommodation.

On the approximately two-hour drive on very well-maintained roads, you pass through various small villages and see lively activity everywhere before you reach the relatively small airport in Arusha.
